5 Days on Steemit | Initial Impressions and My Earnings
So a couple days back I made a Youtube video basically introducing my Youtube audience to Steemit.
I've been on for 5 days at this point and decided to make another video giving my initial impressions of Steemit 5 days in now that I've kind of gotten the lay of the land, and also to share my earnings 5 days in.
Hoping to continue to bring some new peeps on over here from Youtube and hoping to continue to help grow this site.
Being new on this platform, I found this video really helpfull. Thanks for the overview.
Hey thanks buddy, I'm also still kind of getting a hang of things but really surprised how much more of an understanding I have after even just a couple days of playing around with the platform. I'm still kind of trying to find my direction as far as the type of content I'll be doing on here but so far really enjoying it.

Promoted posts are when the OP or somebody else pays steem to boost the visibility of their post. You can see the 'Promote' button at the bottom right of the post.
Hey matt, thanks for clarifying buddy, still a few things I"m not that sure about. Thanks for telling me about the promoted posts as well. If there is a post that I really believe in and like and am proud of and want to give it its best chance of being seen and read and liked I can promote it to make sure it gets a bit more exposure and doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Is that the idea behind a promoted post?
That's right, so by promoting it, you boost its visibility in the tags/topics you've assigned it.
The more you've paid to promote it, the higher it goes up in those topics, and the longer it stays.
It also goes into that promoted tab, which some people browse almost exclusively.
I just promoted this post with 1 SBD, see if that has any affect on number of views.
Looks like your experiment is going well, considering 60ish followers and 5 days. I wonder where you'll be at the end of summer? Looks like Steemit is growing rapidly now.
Hey hoho, I'm actually going to try to set a goal for number of followers and earnings after say 30 days and again after 60 days as well as a goal for how much posting I'm going to be doing maybe something like 7 per week .
Not only do I enjoy this platform but also kind of a secondary mission is my Youtube channel is related to business and I think a lot of times people who are just starting out in entrepreneurship or whatever feel like they'll never get to someone else's level talking in terms of someone more established.
I'm brand new on this platform so basically starting from scratch. My goal is kind of to show my Youtube viewers that you can pretty much be successful at anything if you do something very simple, consistantly put in work on a daily basis.
We'll see what happens.
