The truth about Steemit, and why it is not a social media platform
To whom it may concern,
It is an interesting era, we now have massive mediums to connect with one another. Popular mediums like Facebook, Twitter, etc.. are typically known as social media platforms, but I’m afraid this is incorrect. They do not display social media, they display censored media. Steemit is not a social media platform either, it is a social media market. This market is a better answer to find out what should be considered “fake news." Also, the Steem blockchain will show the true consensus, by preventing censorship. That is why I believe this social media market, and blockchain technology, will make this era even more interesting.

I doubt that Steemit will develop into much of a market, the whole objective is to provide an alternative to the promotion saturated webs that now have become so tiresome to visit. Marketing oriented postings will simply not get promoted, and hence will not develop an audience.
The platform needs as many hands as possible contributing as much and whatever they can. I for one welcome anyone who believes in the platform and interested in finding ways to promote it.

Steem is capable of something else then anyother social media, I think we still need to see what steem and steemit will be used for in 2017.
That would be great! Hopefully you can help bring some awareness. I think we need to build as many applications off of steem as we can.
Regarding specifically Steemit though, I think steem and SP needs to be much more distributed before we start advertising to the masses. I think most will still think the system is "unfair" when they show up. Instead of 50 "whales" being able to dictate who makes the money, we need 1000 or more "whales" that dictate who and what makes the money...
