Other than the obvious stealing of your information to possibly sell on the deep web, they could also use this information to prove they are you and take over your account through the official steem process.

As a security professional, we have a saying. You are guilty until proven innocent. NEVER take anything at face value. Imagine anything like that is a scam until you prove it isn't. If there is even a shred of uncertainty, DON'T DO ANYTHING.

You won't get in trouble if it is legitimate and you refuse to do anything. Anybody who works in security will appreciate your doubt and uncertainty when dealing with security related concerns.

Ohh, and that account is 100% a shady scammer. There is nothing legitimate about it.

Thanks for the call to notice, would be on the watch out too. Long Live Steem

Hi I'm a bot that has been programmed to detect these phishing attempts in real time. They are already being logged and given to @steemcleaners for action. If you notice any new posts that aren't taken care of please notifiy @steemcleaners either on chat.steemit.com or steemcleaners discord.

Attentive discernment. This one has been identified as a phishing scheme by other users over the past couple of days. A few tell-tale signs exist but this may not "click" in your mind if you haven't encountered many of these oddities in the past. Last night Steemit crashed, or was overloaded. Once I connected, a user had posted that a service outside of steemit was being integrated (service not identified). The service crashed causing steemit to crash accd. to the post which explained that this information was sourced from a Discord channel. About 50 min. ago, @barrydutton posted that "The network was being spammed heavily with 70k transactions/second when I was last updated today by a Top 20 witness". I'm sure that we'll find more related posts . Here's a thought: Perceived authority slips through the gates of discernment quite easily. If it looks like, sounds like or "feels" like you have encountered an official authority figure, a person will not feel especially comfortable questioning legitimacy. Intentional deception may be subtle, but often it is quite bold and unexpected, thus disorienting so it's easy to overlook questionable details and hand over the keys to your actions when your fears and emotional "hot spots"are targeted.

Thanks for the heads up!

Very tricky ;)
If you're not careful enough in reading this 'transaction description(?!)' you might believe it.
Good call in taking it all apart :)
I guess there will always be people trying to get into your personal info and money.
