Comfort is a foe of creativity...it stifles it. Some people run from perceived danger, some to it. I took a course in college on analyzing science fiction and one of the elements to look for is displacement. I think the sense of displacement is what draws many of us to science fiction. The same can be said of novelty and complexity, I think. Great article...nice to see someone with a unique way of approaching things. Upvoted and resteemed! Love Bosch, by the way!!!
Thanks for adding your perspective, @richq11 . Your comment makes me think of musicians who seem so very productive in the turmoil and rebellion of youth, composing vital and relevant sounds, but who's energy fades over time as they begin to live more comfortable lives.

Good point! One thing I love about Bosch's painting is that he brings complexity to a very simple concept...Good vs Evil.
