Introduction

I have come to the conclusion that steemit is still the best social platform today rewarding people, not minding her inadequacies.

You may not agree with me but my conclusion is premised on the fact that steemit is the only platform where you can join and gain real value without any initial financial commitment.

I have not come across any better platform so far. I stand to be corrected. That said, this is not a defence for the platform's expectation gap. I believe the platform needs some modification if it really wants to be massively adopted by the ordinary Joe.

It is about my fifth month on the platform. I have seen it fairly well to make my investment decision. And it is not encouraging.

Observation

Steemit growth strategy is flawed. It is two edged surd. If you are not a programmer and you are not celebrity of a sort, then you must be someone with large following in the social media to make a serious impact on steemit. Alternatively, you will have to go through a challenging growth curve.

Implication

Churn rate is high. It is a situation where as you are bringing new people, they are leaving after days and weeks almost at the same rate they came.

For you to measure this, you have to measure the rate of redundancy. Many accounts go inactive after few days and weeks of opening them.

Conclusion

For a mass adoption to happen here in steemit, there is need for the modification of the reward system to give every one a fair voice.

If this is not done, then I don't see any mass adoption happening anytime soon. Don't consider the duplicate accounts created by some people to exploit the system as account.
