1. PayPal role in YouTube Creative
YouTube was created by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim in 2005. The three founders knew each other from collaboration on an Internet pioneer, paypai effort. In fact, Hurley designed the paypai logo after reading Wired articles about online payment companies.
2. Initially, YouTube is a Dating Site
The founding trio did not directly have the concept of YouTube. According to legend, YouTubawawal as a dating video site dubbed 'Tune In Hook Up' which reportedly influenced HotorNot.

The YouTube.com domain name was registered on Valentine's Day 2005. This led to a major misunderstanding for Perrysburg, Ohio's Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment. Their domain name 'utube.com' was overwhelmed with traffic from people who tried to spell the video site's name phonetically.

The video was made by Yakov Lapitsky in the San Diego Zoo. The video featured Jawed Karim in front of the elephant enclosure. This video alone received a hit of 4,282,497 since its online debut on April 23, 2005.

The first example of 'Rickroll' appeared on YouTube in 2007. Apparently, it was the evolution of a '4chan' joke that was originally a 'duckrolled' user who directed the duck on wheels. Today, Rickroll is becoming the most common online practical joke.
