FORSAKE THY STICKS

A story was told of man who was drunk and on his way to his house he fell into a swamp.
While pleading and shouting for help he sought to find God,though being drunk he prayed to God for help to rescue him from the swamp
Atlast the voice of the lord came to him calm and steady and said if you want me to help you,you have to help me
And lord said,you have to forsake the twig in which you hold dear that support you
Now the twig was what he held dear that held him from falling into the swamp and here God was telling him to leave it
Immediately another strange voice came and said you would be stupid if let go of the twig because you will just die!!!
He,decided not to let go and after some time the twig got broken and he fell into the swamp and died still holding the broken twig in his hand as he struggled for life.
Many atimes we are like the man who clinged to the broken twig,these twigs are our sins,God is telling us to leave these sins but because of the pleasures we gain from these sins we are not interested in leaving these sins and the devil comes to advice us to cling to these twigs of sin
In your own interest,leave those sins,flee from a pulpit that does not pull your from the devils pit but instead puts you there.acknowledge God and he would save you from the swamp
