Some Helpful and Friendly Steemit Advice.

minnow achievments.jpg

I was browsing through my "Feed" today and noticed a few somewhat disgruntled Steemians. I could sense the frustrations in their comments. They seemed to be none too happy about their progress on Steemit so far and upon a little investigation, I could see why. They haven't been Steemians by but barely a month.

WHOA...

30 days on this platform is like being a newborn baby (okay, minnow)... you WILL NOT not survive on your own. You will need help!

I remember when I first started on Steemit and I would spend hours creating a post... one that I put my heart into. I would get but $.05 or $.08 and occasionally I would score with a big hit - $.25! It was this way post after post. Then it was like I just woke up one morning and my posts were collecting more Upvotes and more earnings. It was now exciting to see a post generate $.20 from the onset and then finish with about $.35 units after 7 days... yet my votes were still only worth $.02 at full voting power!

After reaching the 7-month mark on Steemit, my posts are now garnering just under $1.00 each (on average). Am I happy with that? Not really... but I keep plugging along. Why... because 7 more months from now those $.81 posts will hopefully be up to $10.00!

And I'm sure by now you have heard this several times - Steemit is not a get-rich-quick scheme and it does take some work. But my advice to all you "new"minnows (from this strong surviving swimmer of a minnow)... the revenue generator as a minnow on Steemit IS NOT in post creation or curation (which you may have been led to believe), but in commenting. And I don't mean throwing around generic-6-word wham-bams, "Hey, nice post!" comments.

You Too Can Achieve Your Golden Bliss!

It is the thoughtful interaction and conversation that you contribute to on posts that peak your interest. That is where you should find yourself... in real discussions, building your Steemit reputation. That's where the real earnings are. In the beginning, Steemit is definitely a "Pay It Forward" atmosphere, where you should pay close attention to those who follow you, and to those who you follow (your feed). You should only follow those members who peak your interest, keeping your feed manageable. Know this - YOU CAN'T follow everybody! Personally, I cull my feed from time to time because I know I cannot follow them all. Some that I followed early on have disappeared and others are picking up speed. I will follow the ones that are both active and who interest me the most so I can give them the time they need to grow,.. along side me.

Then, after such time when you gain more followers - when you have powered up - you can begin to revise your strategy. Update your growth plan where you create more content, attracting even more followers. Plans should always be adjusted, so every once in a while, devise a new plan...

One that takes you where you want to be - one that will take you all the way!

Im in the same boat as you. Im building a community and friendships along the way. It'll come but like you said it comes with time and patience and finding your niche here on Steemit! Keep it up :)

It's like that infamous "slow boat to China" that picks up speed the closer it gets to Hong Kong! 😒 What is the link to your YT channel? Mine is Retiredinsamar

Ahh I switched my cover photo and forgot to add it. Gonna fix that when I’m home and I’ll send you the link and give you a follow! I feel you.. work in progress my friend! We’re here before the masses so we’ve already got a head start!

Brother I don't think it's ever been said better. Nicely done and if heeded those lil' minnows in time will be out of the bucket and swimming on their own! This post nails me to a T as being involved in the community has been my strategy thus far. I've begun to think about more content creation lately as the following has grown and will more than likely change up a bit soon. Nothing that's worth it comes easily and for good reason. Great stuff!

We be swimmin' along together my friend! Let me know if you spot a Dolphin! 😨

I will try to stay in steemit, and try to do my best by making a satisfactory postpost, hopefully someday I will achieve what I hope my thanks are motivated with your post

Beep! Beep! @shadow3scalpel at your service. I am here to assist all military members on Steemit. This HumVee will be scouting posts from a list of Veterans that is maintained by @chairborne. If you are a Veteran and new to Steemit, and you have questions or want to join the Veterans community, reply to this comment. We got your six, unless you are in the rear with the gear. Ooh-Rah!
