This could kill Steemit
First i need to say sorry for the Clickbaitish Headline, but i feel the need to use that in this case to shout it out.
Im very new to Steemit but on the very first day i discovered something i really dislike and i know im not alone with that.
You want to make Money with Steemit? Then the first rule is:
Do what the crowd likes and avoid what they dislike.
This topic is about Masscomments. There is really great content out there but especially the posts tagged with introduceyourself seems to get spammed.
I've seen People who Spam-comment hundrets introduceyourselfs like
"Hey im XY and cool",
"Hey im XY and love Gardening too",
"Hey im XY and im a Doctor too",
"Hey im... bla bla bla",
Hundrets a day!
This guy seems to be everything but normal. The bad thing is, that his tactics seems to work because he got more than 7000 followers. But thats a fallacy.
Why do people try to get attention at all costs?
The answer is simple. Its greed but greed is a very destructive trait.

Those People dont notice that they have the potential to destroy the community they try to participate of. If everybody would do that kind of comment-mass-spam to get followers, people will leave steemit one day because they dont want to filter out the few good comments.
The Spammers make money first but some day they will be all alone with other spambots and not one of them will pay for the spam. Why not just be real and just comment if there is really something to say?
I mean, you can pick people you really like to follow and get to know and say hello, and you can even promote your blog, but spamming hundrets of hundret comments? Be real! Keep Steemit a great Social Network and deliver quality comments or let it be.
Spamming to get followers wont make your content better.
Learn to create good content instead. Spamming seems easier huh? Sooner or later your spam comments will be auto-filtered and all your spam "work" was in vain. Maybe your account gets blocked or you wont even get any payments because of Terms of use violation?
A good, long lasting Blog needs a good foundation made of quality content and passion. People will discover your Blog, just do your thing and be patient. Nobody has a problem if you send an indiviual "Hello" few times a day, but please dont overdo it.
I just feel the need to write this down and i had the idea that maybe you want to link this as answer to all those spams you see. Hopefully some Spammers read this and think about it but im not too optimisitc in that case. Maybe someone even has a good idea to prevent spamming. If so, please let me know. If you feel this post is just a clickbait or there are better Posts like this to resteem, please let me know and i will change that or even delete it.
P.s: This Post isnt meant to say that Steemit is full of spammers and im really surprised that there seem to be just a few of these massive spammers, but we need to take care that they dont overtake.

Maybe I will kill Steemit with my name that I throw around everywhere, hehe. Life always has spam. And spam is like the weeds. Spam is like rain. Spam is like dirt. It might be part of life. It is better to have spam than to take away the freedoms and rights of free speech from people. People can look at me and say I am spam. And I may or may not be spam and/or other things. And you may or may not agree with that. But life is better with more freedoms for free speech which includes hate speech as hate is an opinion. In many countries in Europe, police arrest real citizens for criticizing or for saying almost anything about some terrorists and some Muslims and some of the illegal immigrants. Eastern Europe is much different, however.
You are absoluteley right, but dont forget that your approach could be a shot in your own foot. If you think Spam cant be stopped than you didnt understand steemits flagging and reputation system. It would be a pity if all your (i guess?) hard work was for nothing in the end.
The flagging system is a weeding system. It is a filtering process. It is a cleaning process. We all have the choice in determining how we want to filter things in life. I try not to flag people. I try my best to ignore spam or whatever I may not like. I try my best not to GO CRAZY when I see spam. I try not to give it any attention because I do not have the time. And time is money. But we all have the freedom to flag whatever we do not like if we want and whenever we want. I try to focus more on the up and up.
