I just managed to transfer SBD without having to enter a password.
How can that be?

Maybe you accidentially saved it in the Browser?
Edit: To be sure you can delete all browser data and try again to transfer a low amount.
Avoid saving your password in the browser
Otherwise, I always had to enter the password. Thats the first time without i have to enter the password.
