Low bandwidth, cannot comment or vote
Hi everyone. Everything was going along fine, until suddenly, I was unable to comment.
Now, I have been looking around a bit, and I can only seem to find older articles addressing this issue. And no one really seems sure of the cause, or the solution. Some say you have to buy steem power, some say this is not true and it's a glitch. All I really gathered is it seems no one is sure what causes it, or actual solution to the problem. I have not powered down, and certainly have not been spamming. I've barely even used my account the last 2 days! I believe it is an issue with new accounts? If something obvious is eluding me, please let me know. Hopefully we can bring the proper solution to the top for anyone who searches! I'm hoping to spark some conversation, and hopefully put this issue to rest! Please comment any ideas you may have.

So I imagine I can update now. But I have frequently checked the steemd.com site, and it always seemed to be at almost 100%. Why am I experiencing this sudden drop, that has essentially rendered my account unusable?
Your upvotes are valuable, you can not use more than a certain amount of upvotes. Your voting power is 52.70% at this moment, whereas you should not go beyond 80% threshold ( which is 10 upvotes if I'm not wrong). This can be one of the issue.

Yes, I have frequently been to this site. It's one of the few features I am aware of. But it always seemed to be 99.something percent. Why is my bandwidth so low all of the sudden? I've barely used the account the last few days after using it heavily, and I've only just now encountered this problem.
also the site has been very restrictive the last few days... I was down all day too, its not just you. The way you can tell the status is to watch your "bandwidth" meter on steemd... If it is negative then you can't do anything other than look at things.
I'm told by some bigger players this is just a quirk and not to worry about it, it will come back... Some even think it has to do with the cold weather affecting power to the system or something like that.
Don't worry you are not being singled out... But @hasitpbhatt is right about your voting power meter... Try to keep it between 80 and 100 to get the maximum benefit... That means to resorting to comments, but that is actually a better thing!!! Hang in there! :)
So it is pretty much a glitch, correct? Because I had used my account heavily for days, and had no such issue. I even gave my account a cool down period to regain steem power. Then after a few actions yesterday, I was suddenly out of bandwidth, when I had never noticed bandwidth go below 98% before, even with heavy use. I had at first thought I did something wrong, because I had read that they will limit bandwidth to stop spammers. Seems all is well now, thanks for the feedback! :)
its nothing to do with you... the system is cutting our size users way down at that time of day for some reason. You are not alone, I'm been down for 8 hr 3 days in a row... Its ok though, I use my time wisely when I get the chance ;)
Yeah, I noticed when I am having trouble, the bandwidth limit is in kilobytes, and normally the limit is measured in megabytes. At least that is my take on it. Thank you for easing my worries @davemccoy You're the best!
yes no worries... I was down today almost all day, just came back around 6ish... Its ok, like I said I think it has something to do with the cold weather and power or something like that. I do know its happening to everyone of our size. Stay in touch and glad i could help
