WHY PROMOTE STEEMIT? | STEEMIT HAS DONE WHAT OTHER SOCIAL MEDIAS CAN'T DO
I loved social medias a lot and I still do love them because they help me connect with loved ones, friends, colleagues, relations and get to follow the trends. It also helps us to meet new people, connect with people and get to know the life style of other people.

I joined Facebook in the year 2008 because I wanted to be with my friends and relations even when they are absent, also make new friends. I loved facebook, because it helps me connect to New people. When twitter arrived, I joined around 2013 and started tweeting. I never liked twitter in any way because it was kind of complicated and hard to use. Soon other media came out which includes Instagram, Snapchat, Eskimi, 2go and a whole lot of them.

HOW OTHER SOCIAL MEDIAS GOT IT WRONG
Although people loved them and used them a lot, these social media also had a way of targeting users with ads to gain a lot of data on profiles as well. They were only giving us a medium to hangout and thereby ripping a lots of people with high data usage. These social media were selling our data and information to make themselves rich and yet they left us unturned, left us dry. They didn't think of how to circulate the money made.

THE COMING OF STEEMIT
Steemit came with a whole lot of bombs to blow out these social media. Steemit gave the first shocker, which was a reward system(get paid for your contributions), then another shocker which was NO ADS(no venue to promote your goods) , then more which came from a decentralized community.
Steemit came with something more than a hangout room, steemit came as a community that is not separated by borders or oceans. I'm a Nigerian but I think me on steemit has given me a dual citizenship which is as a steemian and Nigerian.
Steemit brought education; yes, steemit has helped a lot of people learn a lot of things from cryptocurrency to science, philosophy and so on( I'm proudly on of those people).
Rewarding quality content is the bomb and giving people the avenue to share their opinions and earn from it is the most amazing part.
I can categorically say it that steemit has proven to be a game changer both on the blockchain and in the social media platform.steemit has put the power to create wealth in our hands.

@raymondbruce, your article brings out some great points about why Steemit is a better platform than any other Social Media platform before it.
This is the most significant aspect of all, in my opinion. Steemit has opened up the world to all of us in a way that is not expected by the new user. It is a pleasant surprise!
