RE: What app developers can learn from steemit's mistakes.

Very good read @snowflake

I think you've hit on something with the fact that there is too much focus is on the money.

I'd add that Steemit should also be marketing it's very clean look compared to the vertigo inducing layout of Facebook. Another point that should be being emphasized more is that there is no censorship being shoved downed the creators throats by the advertisers(because there are no advertisers)

Well I'm unsure about the long term prognosis for Steemit, I'm very bullish for the overall future of Steem the currency and blockchain. As you pointed out chainbb, busy.org and APPIC are already demonstrating different approaches to the same problems. I think the SMT's were a stroke of genius and will allow the new kids on the block(chain) to come in 31 flavors. May the best platforms win out.

I strongly agree as to the clean UI, particularly. Clutter is all too common, and the spare screen focuses attention on the text one is reading.

As I was drawn here not by rewards, but by the claim of no censorship, and given the infamous censorship ongoing at competing sites, I also find that to be a more significant - and deliverable - marketing draw.
