Cyberbullying Take 2

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone, I am reposting this blog from a couple of days ago because a few Steemit cyberbullies have flagged and downvoted the first one so it is hidden.

They want this blog hidden because they are cyberbullies themselves and a couple of them broke cyberbullying laws which is a serious offense and they will have to deal with the consequences.

Maybe this time the cyberbullies won't flag it, maybe, maybe not. You can check who is downvoting this and my first cyberbully blog at at https://steemnow.com/.

Flagging a post because you don't agree with it goes against the Steemit Etiquette Guide rules.

I was cyberbullied on Steemit

So today I was cyberbullied on Steemit and continuously received harassing messages from a member that included assault and threats.

The member also threatened to gang up on me and have his Steemit friends flag my blog post and replies so he could lower my reputation score. My reputation score is now down to 4.

The member and his Steemit friends set out to intentionally and viciously lower my reputation score to destroy my reputation. The member also viciously set out to lower all of my earnings on my blogs and also my replies to other members blogs and said he would have his "army of followers" flag all of my post to viciously lower and deplete all my earnings.

When writing this I tried to upload images but was not able to because you need a score of at least 10 to upload photos.
I was also told that I would "never work in this town again" and that the whole Steemit community will be on this member's side.

The member has been reported to law enforcement and the administration for this website.

All harassing messages have been screen captured and saved for evidence.

What is cyberbullying?

The following content is from stopbullying.gov and nobullying.com

Adult Cyber Bullying — Harassment in the Information Age

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place using electronic technology.
Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites.

Cyber bullying takes place between two people through email, instant messaging, or phone texting. To be fully satisfying to the genuine bully there has to be an audience, and because of this the bully often takes their activity to social media, Internet forums or comments sections. In these places the humiliation is public and therefore twice as shaming. It also allows the bully to perform at his sadistic best (or worst) before like-minded aggressors.

According to Violence Prevention, cyberbullying includes:

  • Harassment: For example repeatedly sending offensive, rude, and insulting messages.

  • Flaming: Fighting online, often using vulgar language.

  • Impersonation: For example hacking another’s email or social media to post embarrassing material.

Why Cyberbullying is Different

  • Cyberbullying can occur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It can happen any time of the day or night.

  • Cyberbullying messages can be posted anonymously and spread quickly to a very wide audience.

  • Deleting inappropriate and harassing messages, texts, and pictures is extremely difficult after they have been posted or sent online.

Report Cyberbullying

When cyberbullying happens, make sure to document and report the behavior so it can be addressed.

Steps to Take Immediately

  • Don’t respond to and don’t forward cyberbullying messages.

  • Keep evidence of cyberbullying. Record the dates, times, and descriptions of instances when cyberbullying has occurred. Save and print screenshots, emails, and text messages. Use this evidence to report cyberbullying to web and cell phone service providers.

  • Block the person who is cyberbullying.

Report Cyberbullying to Online Service Providers

Cyberbullying often violates the terms of service established by social media sites and internet service providers.

  • Review their terms and conditions or rights and responsibilities sections. These describe content that is or is not appropriate.

  • Visit social media safety centers to learn how to block users and change settings to control who can contact you.

  • Report cyberbullying to the social media site so they can take action against users abusing the terms of service.

Report Cyberbullying to Law Enforcement

I never take threats lightly and will not tolerate being assaulted and threatened. There is no place for that.

Hey, my reply is now hidden because of a cyberbully.

So, @donkeypong is flagging all of my blogs and replies to intentionally ruin my rep score.
