"What can i do to help anyone else?" - ask yourself this whenever you want to create content

That's a question you should ask yourself almost every time you want to write an article. It's not a must, but you should do it from time to time in order to make sure you provide something valuable to the reader, something he or she can use to develop themselves and to be better people.

I know this sounds stupid for some people, but think about it a little - from the beginnings of time people paid, one way or another, for all kind of services and "content" that offered them something. People pay for food that others grow and sell, for cars all kind of people make, for books filled with knowledge, for computers, and so on.

Why do people pay for those things? Why do they spend their hard worked money on things that maybe they don't really need, but want? It's because the creators of those products asked themselves one simple question that helped them understand what people need or desire "What can I do the help anyone else?", and with that they created products or content that offer something to the user.

If you think about it, most things we buy and most things we have in our houses have some use. It may be aesthetically pleasing, it may make our life easier or it may help us in our work. No matter what it does, every single thing we have in our house we purchased thinking about the benefits it can bring into our life.

I'm pretty sure you never walked on the street purchasing rocks from all kind of people, for no reason. It's because you don't really need a rock. You could use it to break your windows, but I don't see why you would want that.

Because rocks have no use in our lives we ignore everyone who tries to sell us one and we just mind our business. I strongly believe it's the same on the Internet, with all the people who create useless content nobody really wants or needs.

If you've been on the Internet for a while you understand that there are people out there who create things nobody asked them to. People creating all kind of weird videos nobody really cares about, creating images that have no meaning and writing articles you can barely understand.

Those people just do what they want thinking about themselves and the rewards they want to receive, completely ignoring the consumer, the most important part of the creating process. If you create something nobody needs or wants, there's no surprise you won't get anything out of your hard work.

That's why you should always think about people when creating something. I'm not saying you should write articles only thinking about what people want and never write about anything you like. However, there's a big difference between writing an article talking about your story without knowing if people want to read it or not, and writing an article telling people you saw a rock today.

If you look at those who make a lot of money on the Internet or even on Steemit you'll realize that most of them do their best to create high quality content and to bring value to the user or consumer. Some of them are creating tutorials, some of them are creating courses and some of them are writing articles hoping to share their knowledge with everyone else.

People like @jerrybanfield are a great example. He's one of those people who write amazing content here on Steemit, bringing a lot of value to the consumers, and for that he's getting a lot of rewards in return. You can also take a look at other platforms and see that even people like PewDiePie or others entertainers bring joy to the user, and that's what makes them so important.

I'm not saying you should stop working on anything you like in order to do only what people want. That's a stupid thing to do, because no matter what you work on, there will be someone who will tell you to stop.

However, you should learn how to do the things you like while also asking yourself what you can do to help others. If you learn how to create content for people and how to be useful to those in need, then you'll always make more progress and get more rewards than those who just do whatever they want without caring about others.
