One thing Steemit does extremely well
I believe most people who are now on Steemit tried to make money online in the past using all kind of websites. Some succeeded while others got tired or frustrated and gave up.
But for those who never tried, here's how it usually works - you sign up on a website you think will help you make money, you create content for that website, and you have two chances:
You get money and you wait to be paid at the end of the month, praying that you get enough money until the month ends.
You try to build a community around your content hoping that the people who really like what you create will be willing to purchase some of the products you have or you'll build in the future.
For example, YouTube is the first type of website. You create an account, a channel, you start uploading content and you try to get people to subscribe to your channel. Then, every month, you wait to see how much you make through AdSense.
On other websites, like Medium or even a personal blog, you write as many articles as you can, you create as much content as
possible, then you hope a community will form around what you do. After that, you build an e-mail list or you create posts where you post affiliate links to products you hope your community will buy. Sometimes that's not the case, and you just create your own product that you try to sell to the people who follow you.
Now, that's how things usually work. The good thing about Steemit is that it's completely different from the way other websites are. It's unique.
First, Steemit gives you the opportunity of building a community around your content, by allowing people to follow you. However, you don't need a huge amount of followers to get money. You do, if you need to make big amounts, and if you want to have a secure source of income.
Second, it offers a much bigger opportunity to see your progress and your rewards. Unlike many other websites, you don't have to wait until you build a community to make money. If people enjoy your content, and you are a little lucky, you can make some money by just posting an interesting article.
Even if it's not a big amount, it's something. Tell me how many times you posted an article on your personal blog or on websites like Medium and after a few hours you saw you made $5 from that article just because a number of people upvoted it?
I don't think it ever happened to most people who are here, right now. That's one thing Steemit does REALLY well. It lets you see how much you make with your content, and it motivates you to work harder.
Even if you don't make thousands of dollars with your articles, you are at least making a certain amount of money, and you can see that in real life. You don't even have to wait until the end of the month to see the final amount, because you keep getting more and more.
That's a great way to motivate your users to post more and be more active. Once a person can see his progress and his rewards every single time he wants, it motivates him. It makes the community interested in the website and willing to participate.
Not only that, but on Steemit you have higher chances of getting big amounts of money when you least expect it. A few days ago I posted an article talking about how to get successful on websites like Steemit, and I did not expect to make any money with it - I made $20.
Yesterday I posted an article about what "getting a life" means when being said by someone insulting you online, and again, I did not expect to make any money with it, yet today I made $150. That's more than awesome. That's more than I make with Graphic River in a month.
Steemit does not only provide us with the opportunity to make money and even get rich, but it also motivates everyone involved in the community to work harder and post more high quality content, and that's a great thing only Steemit does.
