I'd like to think that the issues presented in the above "black mirror" episode are what can/would happen when centralized social media becomes government controlled. Kind of like how some communist countries already have plans to tie your credit score to your social media rating - that is apparently a real thing that's happening, unfortunately.

Since steem is decentralized and not one single organization can control or stop it, I'd like to think that we're doing the opposite here - giving the world a voice and also sharing the inherent rewards instead of one organization pocketing all of the profits.

As one that is scared of the way that any technology can be used, this is a bit reassuring. Thank you.

In what I seek, or attempt to create, all I want is a sense of community and I am starting to see the possibilities here.
