While this is a very old subject, I'm a newb. Isn't it expensive to store the text in the Blockchain? Are all articles actually stored in the BC?

Images will be stored on IPFS, text will be stored on the blockchain.

In the future it is also possible to store text on IPFS.

Thanks Daniel for replying.
What about using Maidsafe instead of IPFS?
IPFS is planning to transform themselves as a Filecoin.
Any possibilities of using Safecoin(Maidsafe) as a data store instead of Filecoin(IPFS)?

I have made contact with juan benet of IPFS and have asked him specifically if he can get me in touch with whoever is wanting to work on filecoin. Filecoin is largely a dead project from what I have been told by some of the IPFS community, so it is entirely possible imo to create filecoin for IPFS :)

text WILL be stored, or text IS stored on the blockchain?

Here is an explanation of IPFS for those who need to understand it better!

I was having the same doubt after creating my first post here on steemit.com. I went ahead and right clicked and opened the image in new tab to see the URL. You know what? it is coming from amazon's S3 storage. Let's assume that what you call this IPFS but thats not permanent and even considering that a distributed storage, it is controlled by a single entity. If anyone can put a little more light on that, it will be great. here is what my link of the image looks like.

here is my link

and if by any chance you are interested in reading the post here is the link for that.
