With any type of network, whether it is crypto-based or not -- there is an inherent double edged sword. If you have a system that is 100% unable to be censored, you have 100% freedom and 100% liberty. But freedom and liberty comes at a cost. Only a mature society can actually handle freedom and liberty without disaster. As was mentioned about slander and libel "without consequence" -- this is exactly what a computerized network that is 100% safe, 100% private and 100% uncensorable would do. Anyone can say anything, and theres nothing you can do about it. So therefore, if we truly want freedom and liberty -- we need to roll with the punches of this consequence and encourage the reprogramming OF THE HUMAN MIND AND SPIRIT to act more maturely and in critical thinking, but without jeopardizing freedom. If you want a computer network in which slander and libel is punishable, the inherent and inevitable double edged sword is that this system will be gamed by tyranny. So even though yes in some cases the wrong doers will be punished, it also creates an environment where more criminals and violators who gain power, will be able to commit crimes and atrocities and abuse the masses with impunity. So my point is, there is no such thing as a tool which will change the human condition. It doesn't matter if it is a system of infrastructure, a system of government, a system of ideology, a system of religion, a system of economy. Whatever it is, it does not matter. Because all of these things are tools and tools are for humans to use, but tools can not magically change the human heart and mind. Humanity needs to either grow up, or not. Humanity will either thrive, or be destructive. We will either make this planet better, or not. So we really need to stop asking what tool needs to be created to babysit a toddler humanity, and ask ourselves whether or not each of us as individuals is ready to participate in the maturation and growing up of the human race. Because if humanity does not do this itself, it will not get done.
