Why Decentralization is Critical

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

As you may have noticed, Russia is blocking access to LocalBitcoins, which would be a huge blow to Bitcoin's volume from Russia. Bitcoin's volume has been soaring, and since the ruble has weakened they are implementing capital controls that is now probably extended to Bitcoin as well.

This could happen in any country, since almost all countries have financial problems, or banking crises around the corner, and they will not hesitate to implement capital controls and block sensitive websites.

This is why we need decentralized exchanges like Bitsquare.io where Steem is available too, decentralized markets like Openbazaar and decentralized & censorship-resistant social media like Steemit.

This is how the banks are playing, they are playing dirty, and expect more censorship, capital controls, license requirements, and taxes in the future. They are desperate to curb the growth of the free world, where everything will be open and transparent.

Let's do our best to promote liberty-friendly projects like the ones mentioned above. We can make a better world together!

Thank you, it is really important for people to understand why decentralization is so important. It's to preserve our freedom and humanity.

You're talking with bot.

The telegram exchange bot is working well though. And it is much better than the 'local'. But yeah blocking stuff is varying, although the tunneling solutions help quite a bit.
