The future of Steemit
It;s going to be an interesting year for Steemit I wonder if they will they just carry on down the same road & hope for more active users. Or if they are they going to make a move to take Twitter & Facebooks users & become the major social media platform on the internet.
If they are going for the latter & want to be the big boys on the net they need to have made most of the groundwork already & are going to have to move very swiftly or they are going to lose out because someone else will take the bull by the horns & strike first.
They already have a good base to work from here but they are going to need to hire some top software developers & change the very face of the platform to get there.
I have a vision where the top social medias are all combined on to one platform there is no reason somebody cant achieve this the internet has the capability to combine all of the following platforms under one banner & I would be delighted if it was Steemit.
I'm talking about Facebook, Twitter, Skype & Ebay. The basics are here already we have the main platform with DTube & Discord added to pull this achievement off but speed is of the essence here the competitors will be like vultures circling above & waiting to devour us.
There is a new platform already in development & due for launch this year called 'Faceblock' the crypto is already on the market & the price is rising fast it's up 26% in the last 24 hours. I cant see the already very wealthy Zuckerberg sitting still & letting a cheap name like that take over his beloved platform he is going to take action & he will do it soon.
It depends on whether the Steemit hierarchy want to keep this the same as a site for authors & budding authors & consequently risk a large exodus of it's users or not I suppose.
Let's hope they have a plan.
Slow growth is better. We don't want this place flooded with Spam artists.
We have enough already
Facebook and Twitter are both going to disappear. They missed the Blockchain boat.
Zuckerberg is talking about getting in on it.
I would hope there will continue to be different platforms to choose from, Facebook (along with google and Apple) has far too much power though and now they are using it to censor people, not to mention selling our information off and watching what we do even off Facebook.
I don’t know if steemit hopes to replace Facebook but I think the goal is to become big enough to put up a fight and stay standing strong when they attack.
There will always be different & new platforms some will be significantly more successful than others. It depends how much of a slice of that pie that Steemit wants. One will stand head & shoulders above the rest at the moment it's Facebook it used to be MySpace. It could be Steemit in the future if they pull their finger out.
