Why you should never Power Up 100%

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

For people who are using Power Up 100%, I am sharing some of my experiences of last couple of weeks that i spend on steemit because if you are doing this you are losing a lot of your steem power.

Initially, I used to post by using option Default ( 50% / 50% ) and for that after 7 days i got 50% of my reward in sbd and 50% in steem power. Although the reward was 50 - 50 but the amount of steem power i got was very less.

I knew that the more we have steem power the greater we have control over steemit post's and curation awards so, I decided to use the option Power Up 100% and after 7 days i got my rewards only in steem power but again the steem power that i got was greater than last time but still it was very less.

So, One day I was randomly checking the conversions on blocktrade and there i found that if we convert our sbd into steem power then we would get a alot of steem power in exchange than we were getting by rewards .

In this screenshot (2 days ago) the amount of steem power that I was getting (0.003) is very less and the sbd that i was getting (0.018) is more although i was using option Default (50% / 50% ).

Now look at the conversion of same 0.018 sbd into steem power which is 0.019 that is much more than previous one (0.019 > 0.003).

My advice :

Always post by using option default (50% / 50%)
and get rewards in both sbd and and steem power and then after some duration (may be in 7 days) when you get considerable amount of sbd in your wallet then sell it on blocktrade in exchange of steem power and In this way you will get much more steem power than you were getting by using 100% Power Up option.

Sort:

That's very true right now however if Steem ever becomes more valuable than SBD you'll want to take your post payout as 100% power up.

Currently, Steem is worth $6.31 while SBD is worth $6.96 (this is the closest in value the currencies have been in a long time). So it still makes sense to do a 50/50 payout.

If SBD goes lower while Steem continues is climb in value, then converting to 100% payout in Steem Power makes a lot more sense.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information.

No problem, I hope it makes sense. I was worried that I didn't explain it well enough.
