RE: One Week In - A Vagrant's Steemit Musings
Your post made me laugh, especially the part about the votes being worthless at this stage in the game. Took me to long to finally upvote and begin this comment. Another benefit to being new and not so powerful is the lack of bandwidth.
Welcome to Steemit (looks like I have a couple weeks on you). I went ahead and followed you because I like your humor.
I am a little jealous of your lifestyle. You must see some interesting places traveling as you do. How do you find the attitude towards you from the native people? I know we are from different countries, but I read/hear lots of people saying Americans are hated so was curious how receptive you are finding others on your journey.
Thank you!
I feel you shouldn't waste time working to hard to maximize the rewards for every upvote since it makes so little difference. It's better to use them to engage with as many people as possible.
Expat lifestyle here has it's ups and downs but overall I like it here. Americans certainly aren't hated here, Filipinos have a long relationship with america.
I honestly can't recall getting one payout for an upvote since I got here. Seems they are all from posts I make or if someone likes one of my comments and has SP and that's it. Not really sure at what point one even begins participating in vote payouts. So spot on it is better to engage.
I have considered doing something similar if I get enough money to travel as you do. So many beautiful places to visit, as well as I imagine the difference in mind sets must really open ones mind from the narrow box we were given to dwell in. Thanks for commenting back and letting me know how receptive the people there were/are to you.
You do get curation rewards actually. They are just so small Steemit does not list them. https://steemstats.com/ lists your steem power by 4 decimals and I could see my steempower go up by 0.0001 even though they don't get listed in steemit.
There are lots of americans living over here on a very small budget. Life here can be great if you have the right mindset. Check out @retiredinsamar for an american expat living here.
Nice, I was doubting i was getting them. Checked out that blog you mentioned. he is pretty funny. His story about trying to leave the country was a riot, although what a hassle. Guess bureaucracy is slow no matter where one is.
