Potential Bugs and Solutions(Part 3/3): Trading and the Reward System

in #steemit8 years ago

Steemians buying steem seldomly would make an bet on the exchange and simply allow someone to buy steem or sell steem to their own advantage. Why tough?

Steemit has the "now" effect. If you want to promote or up-vote with your "true" weight then you need the Steem or SBD. Now. All to affect the posts final viewership and hence it's potential to garner more votes. This effect to buy steem or SBD comes is waves. The user that buys doesn't want to "wast time" at the exchange. That is not where the action as at!

This fact distinguishes Steem from all other crypto currencies that are solely buy and hold tokens such as BTC. Knowing this,if I where a whale.... I would simply place my bet or order on the exchange and let it be.

So why the price volitality?

Well some whales have been powering down and dumping Steem on exchanges. And did not allow for a support wall to be made or maintained.

Selling steem instantly could be beneficial to Steemians if whey where sitting and placing "Supporting" orders on exchanges.... But that is not the avg. Steemian at all. Steemians such as myself simply buys Steem at current prices. As it is at an extremely low point(0.6 - 0.7$). In my opinion Whales powering down could easily place sell orders at, for example, 0.8$ at that point in-time and simply allow us Steemians to buy. While allow the price to move. Rather make a optimistic sell order and keep the Steem price more stable than dumping Steem and causing arbitrage between SBD and Steem... Also You all know that the Steemits internal-market has low fees right... like 0%?

Liquid Steem is in comparison to Steem, an fraction. This means that Steem is highly susceptible to sudden changes in buy or sell power.

Now working with what we know how could we attract the users into Steem and get them to vote as well?
Currently I vote for content I like and is likely on my feed and yes sometimes, lately, I would go and search for new content. But, what would drive you and give you a kick to upvote good content?

So lets analyze work done...
I made a wooden chair and liked it. Someone walks into my shop and buys it for 100 units of gold(micro grams probably). The chair and other expenses means I made a profit of 33 units of gold. I now use the 33units of gold to purchase other Products and services so that they could later on could buy my other, newly made chair. And as a whole we are stronger. Because we all know a bad chair does not sell. And we all know everyone needs to eat...

Currently Steem rewards 25% to curtion. Now moving the reward to 50% is unfavourable to authors. They might as well start up-voting other posts and spend less time on their own posts... And an train smash is the likely result. A 25% is a "pat on the back". I believe an curation ratio of 1:2 or for every 3SBD an post makes 2SBD goes to the author and 1SBD goes to the curators. Now this relation is more viable for larger curators(whales) while the ordinary minnow and dolphins would also have a blast!

Let's reward our quality control users in a balanced manner by giving vesting it's fair share of rewards.

This Should raise the demand for Steem as to vest and ultimately raise the price for Steem in a healthy manner while getting more users active and attentive on Steemit.
