Images on Steemit can only be placed in the centre.
Steemit is still in it's Beta stage, so more features will be added later.

Steemit is on a Blockhain.
Posts on Steemit cannot be deleted from the Blockchain.
Your best option is to edit the post.
Thx. Thats a little flaw on steemit, but not a big issue i guess.
