WHALE UPVOTES... MY NEWEST STEEMIT STRATEGY

in #steemit7 years ago

A few of my posts have now received that robot response where it says your post is one of the most undervalued posts in the last half a day or whatever. It feels good to get them. But it also made me think of a cool strategy, more specifically, with regards to how I can use my voting most effectively.

I have been thinking of ways how I can use my UPVOTES to get whales to read my posts and UPVOTE them or comment on them. I think this robot has given me an idea. What I am doing now is this...

I don't know if you have ever received one of those messages from that robot that says your post is undervalued. But when you get it, it also gives you this link to a post where they list all those undervalued posts, of which you are one obviously.

So, I go to that list and look for something that interests me. Then I click on it and see what the value is. If the value is pretty high, I may upvote it to help the person. Otherwise I look at the comments and see if there are any whale comments. Then I may reply to the whale comment and/or upvote the whale comment.

So, the strategy is to get into that whale/minnow interface if I can put it that way, and see if some whales may notice me that way. By interface I mean the places where there is a high probability of whales and minnows interacting. What do you think? Have you tried this strategy before? Did it work? Why or why not?

More specifically, there must be a way of leveraging the info in posts from that undervalued post robot from a month ago or a week ago. Because maybe that gives the whales time to find it.

I love finding natural ways to explain digital things. Have you heard of the field of Biomimicry?

Well it's simple psychology to go where those who you are targetting are staying. Give, give, give before you shall receive.

Makes sense yeah. How would you go about publishing your blogs outside of steemit?

Market it everywhere you can. Reddit, YT, FB, IG, LinkedIn, Weebly, etc. Literally advertise on every place you can think of and the views will start to come in

Great thanks for the advice, I guess the algorithm in Steemit likes those views too because it automatically introduces people to Steemit... How does Reddit work?

Reddit's the shittier version of Steemit. Very similar midnset

Cool so you also get paid for posting? How did you get such a high reputation on Steemit?

You get paid for any upvotes, yes. I just posted a bit and I've been here for a while (approaching 3 months now)

Thanks for your reply. Interesting, how do you decide what to post about?

Hi @avilsd would you mind resteeming this for me?

Sorry but that strategy won't work :P Not trying to be rude but I only resteem stuff I really like. Maybe I would've resteemed had you gone about it a bit differently, but it seems like a low-effort grab.

OK no problem.

Hi Cillie,

Here is a very good video by @jerrybanfield on getting undervalued post noticed by Whales. It is about the Curie Guild. Very good:

What you can also do is pay a Whale to upvote you. @randowhale askes you for $2 SBD. So far I received between $4 and $5 for every $2 spend.

Thanks! Nice so you just submit a good undervalued post to them?

My posts are so undervalued i dont even get a reminder of how undervalued they are

Interesting... how do you decide what to post about usually?

Would you mind resteeming this for me?

pretty helpful your strategy is clever thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)

Thanks, well I barely started so let's see if it works. How do you go about posting?

Hi @othmanesl would you mind resteeming this for me?

This sounds like a reasonable approach to me and makes perfect sense, you just need to get on their radar and hopefully they will accidently check out your content. I have only been upvoted by a whale once but boy does it make a huge difference. It sent my post from around $20 to over $400.

So any natural way to get the whales to notice you will certainly pay dividends.

Thanks that helps to know that. How did you get them to notice your post?

I was just extremely lucky as it was on my first post.

Hi @munchell would you mind resteemin this for me?

Cool how did you know what to post about?
