What is a NSWF Content in Steemit?

NSFW content is a type of content that is not made publicly visible for everyone due to its nature. It normally appears as hidden. But you can see those by adjusting your display preferences.

The full meaning of NSFW is ‘Not Safe For Work’.There are different types of contents which are mainly considered as NSFW content in Steemit and Steem blockchain based apps such as pornographic, violent, horror and some other controversial materials.

NSFW content tag exists to make Steemit and Steemit related websites as a safe platform for everyone. You can consider as a kind of filter or mild censorship over some contents. Sometime you can upload some adult or other controversial contents in Steemit by using NSFW tag. It will help you to avoid getting flagged by the other members.
