I have seen some people come here and complain that they don't see things that interest them or that Steemit is all crypto and anarchy with a sprinkle of other topics being popular. Well at the moment that is somewhat true because Steemit was created by people in the crypto and Libertarian communities so leaned towarded those interest in the early days. Steemit is new and still growing. If you don't see things that interest you start posting about them so the person who comes after with your interest won't say the same thing. Sure it may not be profitable in the beginning but that will change.

This is an open platform which means everyone has a hand in shaping what it becomes. The technology is scalable enough to host a wide variety of communities. As the site has grown the diversity of topics has grown. The more diverse this site becomes the smaller some of the communities will feel. In the end some communities just won't be as valuable (monetarily) as others but they are still valuable to Steemit as a whole because they will provide that corner on the Internet for those groups to express themselves without corporate/government censorship.

So if you are thinking of leaving Steemit because it doesn't seem to cater to your interest, DON'T! You are person Steemit needs the most. Stick around and help build the community you feel is lacking. and possible be rewarded.
