An Important @payforplay Bid Process Update

Hi everyone. We hope you are having a great day. We have an important @payforplay announcement to make regarding how we process your bids.

Starting now (actually about 10 hours ago), the way we perform our upvotes has changed. Previously, a 2 SBD bid provided you with a 100% upvote. That worked for a short while but recently the bot has started to gain more regular users. In fact, we have about 2-3 times the number of regular users that we had just a few weeks ago. As a result, our voting power has started to get drained and a 2 SBD bid is not as profitable as it once was. If this trend continues, it is possible that your bid could have a negative return. We don’t want that.

It has always been our goal to provide about a 2X return on your bid. We feel that makes it a win/win for everyone. It ensures you can promote your content and get a small return. Hopefully the content promotion leads to even more exposure and upvotes. That is our goal. We understand it can be hard to be a minnow on Steemit. Many bots have a negative return and that is not what we want to be known for.

Over the last week, we have modified our code and performed some preliminary tests to ensure a 2X upvote each time you use our service. That is now the default bid method. So a $1 SBD bid will upvote to $2. A $2 SBD bid will upvote to $4. And so on.

What is very exciting is this allows us to accept smaller bids as well. This should help us reach more minnows. We now accept all bids 0.5 SBD and greater, up to our maximum bid. The maximum bid will change as our voting power changes. It will always be about half of our current vote value, which can be found at steemnow.com/@payforplay. If you bid above our maximum, you will be refunded and our current maximum bid value will be displayed in your return memo. Hopefully that doesn’t get too annoying.
