STEEMIT YouTube Ambassador September 2017

in #steemit7 years ago

I see a lot of effort made by people to get the steemit name out there, from running classes like @stellabelle, to creating videos on YouTube like @jerrybanfield.

Many people don’t realise that YouTube is a search engine.  But if you post on YouTube the content has a higher chance of ranking and being found that on Google.

So this post is dedicated to all those that produce YouTube videos that market Steemit and spread the word about the platform.

The Data and Analysis

Using Power BI, I have connected to the YouTube API and I have pulled the top 150 videos published in September that are most related to Steemit as a search term. Along with details of view count, comment count, likes and dislikes.

Using DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions), I then modelled the data and carried out some quick calculations to produce some meaningful stats and find the STEEMIT YouTube Ambassador for September

High Level Overview

156 videos from 101 channels on YouTube reached 153,226 people.  Awesome work.  The table on the left shows the accounts sorted by the number of videos published on Steemit.

But which of these video creators could we name STEEMIT YouTube Ambassador September 2017?

Well to find out I needed to dig a little deeper into the data

Detailed Summary

As we have the Youtubers listed above in order of the number of videos that made it to the top 150 most relevant videos for the search term STEEMIT.  Now it is time to see how these videos preformed.

First sorting by Total Views here are the top 20 Youtubers representing Steemit

Then sorting by average likes per video

And then by average number of comments per video

And finally by average views per video

 STEEMIT YouTube Ambassador September 2017

@suppoman is in the top two on each of these charts, with TecH Bangla Pro in the top two on 3 of the charts

With only 1 video and a whopping reach of 10,520 people TecH Bangla Pro comes in a close second.  You can find this YouTuber here on steemit @fxsajol, and here is a direct link to the video

Unfortunately for me, this video is not in English so I have not been able to judge the sentiment.

But in number 1 place with a total reach of 44,956 people and an average view of over 22K.  The September 2017 STEEMIT YouTube Ambassador of the month goes to

@suppoman

I have watched both of these video and the sentiment about STEEMIT is positive, sure watch yourself and see.

And what’s even better is that @suppoman has not even asked for funding to advertise our platform like this, unlike other steemains I know!!!

So everyone hop over to @suppoman account and show him some STEEM love and support.

Thanks for all the effort @suppoman – Keep up the good work

Great analysis your excellency

I'm a youtube subscriber of @suppoman and i can vouch he deserve the steemit youtube ambassador having seen all the good videos he put out to promote steem and steemit without raising funds on this platform to do that.

I think he's a very busy guy too, but still schedule time to post on steemit as possible.

Kudos to you for this great initiative

One of the big things in this analysis for me is that @suppoman did this as we have both pointed out without raising funds on this platform.

Thanks you @paulag - I appreciate the accolade and am grateful you have encouraged support! Super work.

Congratulations @suppoman we need more big hitters like you on board to really get this rocket ship to take off!

When someone puts the effort in, I believe it should be at least acknowledged by the community. So well done. I hope you get a few more followers from this post :-)

Hello @paulag

I really love the way you made the research, giving Ambassador to those that has preached the gospel of Steemit to the world is a great idea and i love it.
Monthly will really help as you had said up there.

With this there will be lots of competition, everyone will preach preach and preach lol.
Therefore, the total population of steemians will determines the rise of steem in some years.
You did a great job there. Kudos

@bollutech

Thank you very much. its nice to mention those that do good work for steemit, hope they see the post!

Hello @paulag

You are most welcome here. I really love it

nice post and great work @paulag waiting to see how do #steemian performe on other platforms ;)

other platforms......not as easy to get the data. Facebook, Instagram, twitter only share certain data with their APIs....I have been looking at this but so far I have not developed anything concrete that I could use

Interesting analysis - and not the answer I expected!

I had heard of @suppoman but not watched any of his videos.

It would be so useful if there was some sort of tracking system so it would be possible to know what channel new account sign ups have come from. It would certainly help with the marketing of steemit.

I am so glad it was not an answer I expected either.

Steemit Inc would know who is driving traffic, assuming they have google or some other sort of analytics set up, which I would say they are.

The only effort we could really make is tracking this is if we used the likes of bitly link generators on anything that posts back to steemit. then we could track our own results.

Getting the name out there on other platforms is important to help steemit grow. Congratulations to @suppoman this month.
