Steemit For Beginner! What You Need To Know ?

Welcome my dear steemians ! Today I will be teaching my fellow new steemians what steemit is and how can we make the best use of it. For an absolute beginner it is hard to understand what steemit is? It's easy to figure out where and how to post but there are many things you need to know.

Wallets

Wallet is one of the most confusing things in steemit for the beginners. If you just click on wallet at the right corner of the screen then you can see this.

Here comes the confusing part and if you click in the reward section and see curation reward and author reward then everything becomes a lot more confusing.

Here is the thing you need to know. Steem is a cryptocurrency (Like bitcoin) and you can buy steem and put it in steem section mentioned in your wallet. Steem can be sent to another steemian account and can be sold. Steem can be converted into steempower.

Steempower may seem to be a little bit confusing topic but it is simple. Steem power is what determines your voting power. If you have a lot of steempower then your upvote will give more money to the author. So steempower is the most important thing you need to grow on steemit. Currently I have 49 steempower and my one upvote is worth of 0.01 dollar. And what is more interesting is that steempower and steem (in your wallet) will be dependent upon the value of cryptocurrency steem. Today the worth of 1 steem currency is $1 and if it will grow to $2 then my upvote will worth $0.02 and it is highly expected that steem will grow way more higher than today. So, it's like saving for long term future.

Steem dollar is what you can withdraw. To withdraw your balance first go to your bittrex account and search steem dollars and click the + sign at the left corner.

Now copy the memo section.

Then come to your steemit account and click the arrow key near your SBD balance. Then click on transfer and this page will appear.

In To type bittrex and in memo, paste the memo copied from bitterx.

This is how you will transfer your money to bittrex account.

The saving section is where you can put your steemdollars and the steemdollars can't be taken out for 3 days.

In steemit you can earn for curating others post. If you see a great post which you think it worths your upvote then upvote it. If the post is upvoted by other people too then you will earn some reward for it to discovering the great content. Everything you earn will be in your wallet section, it won't be in your curation reward or author reward section, those section is just for you to know where you have made money from.

If you earn from curating then it will be shown on curation reward section and if your earn from writing post then the earning will be shown on author reward section.

Do's

Introduce Yourself

If you are new to steemit then you may get some followers and upvotes by telling people about yourself. Introduceyourself is the most famous tag for beginners. People will come to know who you are and what your interest are and what you will be posting about. Those people who are interested in you will follow you.

Follow those whose posts interests you

If you are interested in someones post then follow them. They may also be interested in your posts and follow you. You will also be helping in making a community in steemit. Following people are always appreciated in this community.

Upvote comments and posts

If you see a good post then upvote the post and comment. This is all to make your community in steemit and to make a friendly interaction with other fellow steemian.

Read others content

Reading others content helps you to make a good content yourself. The more you read the more you learn and the more is the quality of your content. So, read others post.

Don't

Follow to follow

This is the worst thing you can do on any social media or specially in the place like steemit or even youtube. This may seem to be effective at first but eventually you will be surrounded with people with a varying interest and they won't give any views to your post and no any upvotes.

Copy others content

This may also seem to be effective trick at first but if your post ever get noticed by some steemit cleaners or other bots on steemit then there is a high chance that your account may get removed from steemit or your reputation will decrease to that extent that you may never recover.

False Information or Clickbait

This is another worse thing you can do here. Misleading title may increase your chances to get flagged and if you spread false information then you may lose all of your followers some day.
