RE: Steemit is not just censored it is SUPER CENSORED

in #steemit7 years ago

From the little that I understand about Steemit - it seems to me that it is a platform with a decentralized power structure.

As such, might it be that there is one or more users upon this site that are simply using or abusing their voting power to flag your posts?

Or does it require more than that to have posts nullified?

Sort:

How can something be 'decentralized' when the vast majority of the $ is held by an extremely small % of the users?

How is it centralised? What did you want to come here and get straight away 10k dollars? I don't understand people who moan about it.

This really is not about the money, is it?

This is about imposing the right to choose what gets published and what does not...

...without adequate thought of the responsibility which is prerequisite to the judicious application of that right claimed...

...a fashionable yet perverse state of mind otherwise known as "entitlement".

Of course, what remains to be seen is whether it is entitlement at play or a more mindful individual or set of individuals who may have felt that flagging is the correct first step in airing their disapproval.

Even though history shows that the exercising of might makes not one right.

One thing that I find particularly disturbing is that there appears not to have even been an attempt at contact or communication - which is a missed opportunity at diffusing this situation on the part of both concerned - but admittedly especially s/he/they who have launched the first flag in haste.

The flagging has only just started

All the more reason to initiate diplomatic communication, I think. :c|

I mean, maybe its somebody who is simply invested in Steemit who feels that your statements about Steemit and censorwhip are a threat. At least, that is my unqualified suspicion.

Of course, there are avenues that could more productively be explored - such as a discussion over what limitations there ought to be in terms of what is or is not permitted upon this platform.

You mention your posts several months ago and those today. Has anything changed since then?

Incidentally, just a personal suggestion: You can convey your message just as effectively without the profanity and the disrespectful equation of steemit and... a steeming pile.

After all - the user flagging you uses steemit. He is not steemit.

By aiming at steemit in general you may actually be hurting your case.

Stay edgy but keep things classy. :c)
