RE: Editing Posts After Posting!

yup, that happened to me after I had crafted my introduceyourself post for two days. When it finally came to posting it, I had no idea how to separate the tags to conform to steemits standards (commas, spaces, pluses, separate by hitting enter?!)
Well I hit enter almost out of reflex and needless to say, it posted the whole thing. I panicked slightly ;)
Fortunately I had read over the whole thing so many times, I only find one missing word now, which is not all too bad considering some other posts I have seen. But I did decide to edit the post right then and there to add the remaining 4 tags.
What I originally came here for was a possible answer to the question whether editing a post will change its value, or my reputation in any way? Would it be smart to add that missing word or edit that typo within the first 7 days, or do it later, or not do it at all? Is this considered fiddling with your content?
Will keep searching, if I find an answer I will post it here for others who might be wondering the same thing.
Anyway, good post, makes me feel less like an amateur, even though I probably am.^^

Well let me put it like this, the perfectionist in me took over and I simply added that missing word anyway.
I also found it necessary to edit the text and formatting of my Media Shamanism Manifesto 2.0 video a gazillion times after posting it, as it was my first try with dTube and I simply would not accept it the way it came out on my wall at first.
I can let you know if the payouts magically never arrive and we'll know for sure if editing after birthing is a bad idea^^ ahahaha
Have not found anything more on the particular question, but to be honest I have been more busy with writing and less with looking for problems that might be none.
But we'll talk again about this in a few days, hopefully with good news and a full license to drill ;)
This is my EXACT question because I just did the EXACT thing by hitting enter after one tag on my “Introduceyourself”lol. As a Youtuber, I know that editing a post after it was just posted can be a bad thing so I’m trying to see if it’s the same thing on Steemit :)
So, after 30 days of experience I can relay a few things:
So far nobody has had an issue with me fixing typos and stuff. I would not try to add whole paragraphs after posting, it should be the final text when posting to steemit. After all - people voted on it, and if you change the ideas within your post LATER, it might come off as a little dishonest.
That said, I always welcome when people go over their text a few extra times and take out all the typos they can find. Seems much more professional, and readers will be able to tell that you put great efforts into your post when there aren't many hang-ups and typos, which will ultimately rewarded by quality-lovers.

Thank you for this! Especially your last comment. I made my intro post before learning about markdown formatting. It was fine the way it was, but – having learned how much better it could be, I simply couldn't stop myself from editing a few more times today – simply to beautify it. Yet I noticed that the estimated value of my post (though embarrassingly minimal) dropped by $.1 after each, additional edit. It wasn't until the 3rd time that I realized what was happening. Now I know! I'll certainly be more discerning and careful in future. I am curious, perfectionists are all insane (and I am one of them).
As far as I understand it, the number of edits has little to do with post payouts. The payouts declined in the last months due to the falling price of Steem.
so far I have not had seen any downside to editing posts, other than using up bandwidth, which you only have a limited supply of per day. So try to make less but larger edits at once.
Where is the edit tab for up to 7 days?
