💱 Why doesn't Steemit, through the power of Bitshares, offer to payout in crypto of choice? 💱This could be a great marketing tool! Steemit is the perfect interface for Bitshares!👍

If Steemit had a built-in-Bitshares feature that would automatically convert SBD or STEEM to the crypto of choice of users, this could be a great marketing tool for Steemit as well as offer extreme convenience to Steemit users!

Let's be honest, the future is one of multi-crypto's and STEEM will be one of them, but only one of many probably. Why focus on creating a closed STEEM ecosystem, when we can adopt the wider cryptocurrency scene as a whole and draw them in?

Blogging for Bitcoin

Right now we are blogging for STEEM and SBD, but what if we could simply change that to 'Blogging for Bitcoin'? or 'Blogging for Ethereum'? Don't you think that it would have a significant appeal to many people in the cryptosphere?

It would be relatively easy to implement too I think! It could just be something layered on top of Steemit and Bitshares.. a bit of added features and options for users so select if they want to get paid in something other than STEEM/SBD, and then underneath the Steemit website would interface with the Bitshares marketplace and arrange for all the selling/buying and deliver the crypto of choice to the blogger. It would come at a small Bitshares trading fee, of course, but think about how great this would be for the Bitshares liquidity and trading volume too. There would be plenty of people using the Steemit interface to change their STEEM or SBD for whatever other crypto of their choosing, so that means a constant stream of buyers and sellers on Bitshares which is great for the ecosystem.

Steemit is the perfect interface for Bitshares

It really is! Why? Because it already has a community of users in the hundreds of thousands! Onboarding the Steemians onto Bitshares would give Bitshares one of the bigger userbases among exchanges in one go! Not only would many people be introduced to Bitshares, it would probably not even be necessary to visit sites such as Bittrex anymore. Why would you, if you could just do it all on Steemit? Steemit would basically have it's own DEX feature built-in! Think about what it would do for the price of STEEM as well as BTS? People may suddenly start seeing the value of holding on to these and power up!

Changing the narrative

By adding an auto-convert option from STEEM/SBD, we are changing the narrative from 'Blogging for STEEM' to 'Blogging for crypto', which I believe has a much wider appeal in the community. Especially with people focused on Bitcoin and the big players something like this could draw new blood in.

In conclusion

I think combining the powers of STEEM and Bitshares is in the best interest of all parties and will enable both to grow. The two are closely related anyway and many of the core communities overlaps with oneanother. So why not? And when the time of EOS comes, you both can port the whole thing over and integrate it even better!
