There are way too many giveaways ! Earning a share of a post worth less than $1 is not cool

Spoil sport

I don't want to be a moaner or spoil anyone's party. I hope nobody takes offence, cos this is meant in a light hearted and little bit jokey way. ( I don't really care that much) but anyway.. There are some great giveaways and excellent competitions on steemit. I should know, I've entered many, won a few and even compiled and organised a few of my own, with varying levels of success and satisfaction. My Birthday giveaway helped found re-steembot and I genuinely wanted to give something back. I've given away steem as thank you's for help and for my 100th follower, etc.. It feels good to give and it's true to some extent that giving is indeed better than receiving.

THEME !

There has to be some kind of theme to a giveaway or it just becomes contest spam.. the inane; upvote this post, follow me .. turn round three times and you'll get an equal share of zilch is so boring and it feels like it's going viral.. especially among the steemnoobians so if you upvote, share and resteem this post you will get nothing, except the smug feeling of being an experienced steemian, (3months + membership) & probably with a reputation of 40+ .. you see, giving is a good feeling after all.
