I see alot of people sharing links to this news so I decided to bring my thoughts and questions into the discussion. I believe if everyone did the same instead of sharing a link, it would actually be very benefitial to all of us, since there are huge oportunities for great profits in this. We just have to figure them out together, I certainly cannot do it alone. Two heads think better then one :)

Facebook & Cryptocurrency

Do I think it will happen? If cryptocurrency really succeds, and it has so far, despite it's limited use, then yes. Inevitably, not only Facebook but everyone else will have to adapt, in order to stay relevant, but I believe they will do it just because there are alot of opportunities to make money.
If Mark Zuckerberg says they are looking into it, then most likely, he already knows what is going to happen. And it will be Facebook to take cryptocurrency to another level, simple because Facebook is a huge platform with billions of users.

If Facebook adopts Cryptocurrency in some form, and it will, this will take a huge reformation not only in the way the site organized, but also in the way people view Facebook. A huge update will have to be made to the website in order to provide for a better share of content between strangers, just your family, friends and groups won't cut it, or maybe it will, who knows. So when you see a small change in the site, be sure, it has started.

The possibilities are just numerous, will Facebook become a market place also?

Alot of companies use Facebook as marketing tool, and so they can have a closer relationship with their customers. With the acceptance of cryptocurrency, selling will become much more easy, this will also mean a huge boom in cryptocurrency, especially the ones accepted in Facebook, which leads to more questions: Will Facebook have it's own blockchain? Will it use a token from another Blockchain? Will it accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencys? Which ones, and why? Will it use only XRP? :) Will Facebook adopt cryptocurrency, in a similar way to Steemit? As a reward or tiping sistem?

What impact will it have in the world?

Who uses Facebook? Almost everyone. Most people get home from work, tired, they go on Facebook to share photos of their day, the past holidays, trying to show a life they don't really have, but that's another matter. Maybe just to chat with their friends, or even to promote their business. What is going to happen to the world, when millions of people start using Facebook as a source of extra income? Or even as their full time activity?

Can you imagine the amount of scams that will appear?

What will be the "coinsequences" of all this?

If Facebook creates it's own Cryptocurrency, it will be the World Wide MONEY! Hands down, no one else can even compete.
Is Mark Zuckerberg a shapeshifting reptilian? I digress...

What does all this say about the future of Steemit?

In my humble opinion, Steemit, will always be a source of good content, even if Facebook copies what is being done here. The huge number of Facebook users trying to make a quick buck, as americans say, will dilute the good content into a sea of spam. At least till a solution is found.
Steemit will stay exactly what it is, a niche. Althou, on the other hand, anything that Facebook does might, infact help to promote Steemit, and cryptocurrency in general. (oh it will)

It is also my opinion, that Youtube will the one that suffers from all this, how many people will leave, or pay less attention to Youtube, just because they can make money on Facebook? Or about the companies that maintain business with Youtube? It will take a month till Youtube and other medias accept Cryptocurrency aswell, in one way or another.

There will be a Cryptocurrency boom, a loud one.

Right now alot more questions are poping on my mind. Here is another good one:
Will companies be allowed to use their own tokens on Facebook or other media sites? Upvote comments with a particular coin or token? If not, will they come to Steemit just because of that? It is honestly a huge thing, a companie that does that to potential customers will gain alot of sympathy.
Endless speculation can be done on this subject, I leave the rest to you.

My prediction, based on my own Hype

Hold on to your Steem and SBD, and buy some Facebook shares just incase. Infact hold on to your sprouts coin, it is about to get crazy. Or it's just that I'm so hyped after writing this. Eather way I laugh at people that say "oh this coin will never reach $10, simply because that would require a 1 trillion dollar marketcap." Do you even know what you have in your hands? Prepare for the times of the trillion Dollar marketcaps, they will come.
