How to upload an image onto Steemit - Complete newbie guide

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Over the last couple of days I have received quite a few requests on how to upload an image to Steemit. I have chosen imgsafe for this step-by-step guide, but any image hosting site will work. Postimage is another good one. Steemit also has its own site, but I haven't used it yet.

1. Google imgsafe

2. Select "Browse"

3. Choose your file/files and select "upload".

4. Click on the image your wish to select.

5. Copy the image address above.

6. In the Markdown editor select the picture symbol.

7. Paste the image address and tick. All done!

thank you for this

My pleasure, hope it helps. If you choose images from the internet, always include the image credits. :)

will you give me an example?

You can use images safely from pixabay, and then just state something like "images courtesy of pixaby". There are other images you can use, but check under steemithelp, or go onto rocket chat and ask in the discussion groups there. If you use your own pictures you can just say "original pictures."

steemithelp, rocket chat - will try those, thanks!

thank you kindly

Hi, @onetree, so glad I found your post! I had great luck using imgsafe for my first post last week. I love the ease of it, esp being new. But over the last few days, with my new & improved 2nd post in my head, imgsafe won't accept my password. I wrote it down, but stuff happens, so go to change it, and no options for "forgot password" or solutions. It sucks because I like imgsafe! Trying different things to get thru to imgsafe I also got a 404 server error. Bummer! Have you been able to use them recently? I hope I'm just missing something dumb. Going to look at Postimage and for the steemit site, thanks. Others I've heard of are tiny pic and imgur, although I know nuthin' 'bout them. Thanks for the post, and the other important advice in it!

I use imgsafe without logging in. The only difference is that it doesn't save your photos, which I don't need it to do. Otherwise try making another account. :)

Oh yes, and sometimes they are offline. Postimage works fine too.
