Sleep To Build Muscle

 Hey guys! 

 Today I thought I would teach you something about sleep. I know the title says ‘Sleep To Build Muscle’, nevertheless it could be still interesting for you even if you aren't into fitness stuff. Ok. Lets get right into it.. 

Basically the black line, which is like a wave, illustrates our sleep cycle. When you go to bed (the red dot) you're slowly getting into your deep sleep. You stay into that deep sleep for a certain time. After that time you're coming out from deep sleep. Each compleesion from getting into deep sleep and coming back out into the light sleep is around 90 minutes. It depends from each person. You continue to repeat that cycle all night. Oh and after every one and a half hour, the deep sleep becomes longer. Anyway the interesting thing is that during our first period of deep sleep (green area in the picture) we release the most growth hormone. Now, while this cycle of deep sleep becomes longer, we unfortunately don't pump that much of growth hormone anymore. That is why it is really important to take high quality protein before going to bed, if you want to see better results in growing muscles.

  The other interesting thing, which is interesting for all of us, not only for the fitness gurus among us, is that when you wake up in the middle of the deep sleep, you feel very tired, have a lack of energy and feel weak during the day. That explains why you are sometimes more awake even if you haven't slept for that long. Well, at least I had this situation before... :D
