Why is there a Facebook javascript applet running on Steemit?

Very curious why this is happening. I run a browser with the NoScript add-on to control unwanted scripts from executing when I load a site's web page. To see the Facebook script wanting to run on Steemit is concerning to me. Any one have and answer or thoughts as to why it is there?
