Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

I have reached the "esteemed" level of 420 followers here on my Steemit account.

I'm proud about the progress I'm making, but I definitely feel like I'm still learning my way around here. Here's what I've been working on lately:

I've started looking into curation trails and autovoting

I want to reward people I like, and I want to find good things I don't know about yet. (And I wouldn't mind making a few bucks doing it. I've also noticed that curators with a following have found my posts. That made me examine (a little) who's been upvoting my content, and who does it on a regular basis. Steemit can offer you a lot of insights into your own audience.

I've started to focus on commenting more

I'm far below my earlier goals on that, but I still believe that commenting is the most undervalued activity on Steemit. It is the best way to get you and your ideas and yes even your writing in front of other people who might otherwise not notice. More importantly, you can build lasting relationships with other people on the platform. But those things will only happen if your comments are thoughtful and engaged, not self-interested and spammy.

I'm looking into integrating other platforms

Looking to the future, I am also exploring other ways to serve my audience. Maybe a podcast. Maybe a video channel. I'm currently working on two book projects, one fiction and one non-fiction, that need to be woven into this tapestry somehow. This whole adventure has really gotten my creative side powered up, and I need to direct that energy in the best way I can think of. Good things are coming.

I'm open to suggestions for future content topics or what you'd like to see more of from me, anytime. My latest piece was about the brave new world of legal international marijuana distribution.
