Like a lot of things in life it's kinda like a game. When starting out, just focus on growing and establishing your ground. Growing out of minnow status is no exception. I find it kinda fun.

Being a minnow is challenging, to get an upvote is hard yet you see people that makes post with no meaning nor benefit to steemians and they walk away wih $$$$,
Most times I can only pray for a whale to upvote my post 100% either good or bad
