Steemit versus Golos - The Chess Match - A Cross Platform Showcase. Move #6

in #steemit8 years ago

Welcome to our cross platform chess match in which we explore and showcase the ability of the Steemit platform to transcend its own boundaries by playing a game of chess with the Russian speaking world via the Golos platform.

Here's the current position:

And look at that. We've transposed to a Queens Gambit Declined. This keeps things very much within opening theory.

Mission

This will be a 'one off' game between Golos and Steemit. The main benefit is that if hundreds of people can use Steemit to interact with something outside of Steemit, more of the world will see what this technology is capable of.

You can play for fun, for pride or for money.

I am the final judge in all matters.

I promise to act with complete honesty

In the last game I noted some dummy accounts and multiple accounts held by the same owner were used to manipulate the vote. I will not allow this. Also, votes from non active users may be ignored at my discretion.

It's your move Steemit!

Finally, someone does something other than push a pawn...

I know, you have to get the pieces in play or it ends up as one of those little tentative games!

In nice and early this time! Could you do me a small favour and rewrite your move as e7-e6. There are a lot of beginners playing and this will remove ambiguity.

e7-e8 is an impossible move. :)
I guess you prefer me to also write 3. ... c7-c6 then instead of 3. ... c6? Ok, as you wish. :)

Yes my mistake. And yes please.

F6-E4 .... I say turn on the pressure.

d5-c4

Take the first, think about the second, never take the third!

The d-pawn is then free but not free to advance! Not yet that is...

Why is there so much time between moves?....this could take a very long time haha.

Well each post takes about 30 hours before closing. I then have to make a new post. I try to post at a similar time each day so that can delay things. Also, real life can get in the way. Best to think of this as a correspondence game...

I see. Well I like the idea of the chess match between platforms. Just don't want it to take a year haha. Especially since the post payout time will increase at the next hardfork

E7 - E6
defends pawn D5, opens route for bishop to defend and support knight for future pressure, when knight moves forward.

How is the chess game going? I'm ready to move haha

It'll be back as soon as this 'experiment' is over.... Thanks for the enthusiasm!

I am stating to wonder what is going on with this? It has been 3 months...and money is to be distributed after this game. Thanks.
