Content: People Claim This Is How To Get Upvotes, But The Real Key Is....

in #steemit6 years ago

I'm just tired of people saying that the way to make money on Steemit is to produce quality content, because that's only part of the puzzle, and often it's not even true. The real way to do it is to produce quality content in a popular subject, and even then that's not all of it. If you also have a great thumbnail image on your post, that's a great step in the right direction. If you have an outstanding title, that might be the most important thing; marketers always talk about how the headline is the most important part of ad copy.

Even with all this, you would likely need to keep doing it over and over again to finally start to gain a little traction. The people you see trending are usually either the few who finally had a post that got a lot of upvotes, or people who already have gained alot of subscribers by putting tons of work into their blog. So yes, it's important to produce quality content, but it seems that is usually just part of what it takes. If your blog is about something that's not very popular, you're not likely to get very far.

Also, if someone already has alot of subscribers somewhere else, and they bring them here, that can get them a huge amount of upvotes.

I'm not saying I've gotten there either, (my posts often earn little if anything, probably because I post things like my own art, music etc) but people keep only mentioning one part of the puzzle and they need to look at what's going on and be honest about what people will actually need to do if they want to consistently earn some decent income from their blog here.
