They implemented that when the price was at 10 USD for 3 SP. The thing is, if they change it now then people who subscribed before will have less SP than the new comers. How would you feel if you get 3 SP and 1 month later someone register and gets 30 SP for the same thing ? It doesn't feel right neither.
Instead of saying that they are giving 10 USD worth of SP they should say that they are giving 3 SP. That's it. The price of STEEM will continue to drop to 0.25 USD where it was before the parabolic move. So soon you will be getting 0.75 USD worth of SP for registering.
I was told by someone today that he received 5 SP when he signed up and that it was also suppose to be worth $10. So they did adjust the promotion reward for signing from 5 SP down to 3 SP after the price went up, and just forgot to adjust it again after the price went back down.
Of course would it feel right, because it would have the same value! $10 are $10. We still live in a fiat world, so the only thing that matters is a fiat value. If everyone who signs up gets something with a $10 value it is as fair as something can be.
