I also want to thank everyone who cast their vote for me yesterday during the 2nd round of @airhawk-project Crypto Knowledge Contest. You were so many and I'm truly humbled by the love. I didn't want to mention names but I think its important I do that right now so that it will remain permanent in the blockchain that you all had your hands on deck for me. Okay. Let's get in for the business of today. Yesterday, my post was on how to become a whale by powering up. I also talked about the merits of doing that. Now, I'm going to break down the processes and show you exactly how to POWER UP WITHOUT CLOSING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.

There are many ways to kill a rat but some are more effective than the others. What are the ways you can power up?

1. POWERUP FROM YOUR STEEM/SBD BALANCE:

This is a straightforward approach. All you need to do is have Steem/Sbd in your Steem Wallet. When you click the drop down button close to your steem balance, you will see an option for power up. Once you click it. That steem automatically becomes SP.

However, if what you have is SBD, you have to first convert it to steem. This takes 3.5days to do. So if you are in a hurry, don't do this. Just click "SELL" which will take you to blocktrades. There you can sell your sbd and get back the steem equivalent. This is a good time to buy steem because its lower in value than SBD. So converting your SBD to steem will give you more steem!

The sources of this steem/sbd could be from the ones you already have or by buying with your hard-earned money.

2. POWER UP FROM DELEGATED STEEM POWER:

A delegated SP shows up in your wallet under your main SP in a bracket. You may get delegated SP via the following means:

• From opening new steemit account - every steemit account is gifted with the initial ~ $27 worth of SP to begin steeming with. From this initial one, you can then work your way up.
• As a gift - Someone may decide to gift you by delegating SP to you. I'll love to receive such anyway..., in case there are people that want to gift me. Lolx.
• As a contest price - Yeah. I know of someone that enjoyed 10,000 SP for 1 month because he won a contest.

3. POWER UP FROM LEASED SP:

According to the online Business Dictionary:

LEASE is a

Written or implied contract by which an owner (the lessor) of a specific asset (such as a parcel of land, building, equipment, machinery or services) grants a second party (the lessee) the right to its exclusive possession and use for a specific period and under specified conditions, in return for specified periodic rental or lease payments.

From this foregoing definition, its easy to see that leasing gives you an equal right to the SP of a person for a specified period inder which you can use it as you please. Leasing SP on Steemit was made very easy with the aid of MinnowBooster. According to them, you can;

LEASE 75 Sp for 1-3wks at the rate of 1steem/week
LEASE 150 Sp for 4-12wks at the rate of 1steem/week

The point is that you get more value by leasing for a longer period of time. And I suggest you should make it a monthly (4weekly) lease. So depending on the amount of SP you want, you can do the maths as follows.

Eg you are demanding for 1000 Sp.

1000/150 =6.67 Steem/week

For 4 weeks = 6.67 x 4 = 26.68 Steem.

The current exchange rate of steem is around $ 0.908 while that of Sbd is $ 0.970. So in essence its wise to get your steem from the sbd you already own the way I already described above.

This is the crux of our discussion today. Have you seen that you can get 1000 Sp for 1month with just 26.68Steem? If you wanted to wait for 1month, there is every possibility that you may not get up to 1000Sp as a minnow if you didn't invest money from you bank account. Without leasing, to get 1000 Sp, you need 1000 steem but now you can get it for 26.68Steem/month. Thats an amazing 97.3% saved!!!

As it turns out, you need SP to survive on this platform. You need Steempower to make your voice heard. You need Steem Power to spread love to the people that need it most and you can get it for a little amount of steem/sbd by leasing it.

Don't be that person who then starts asking me "how much I'm I going to make?" Dear Minnow, everything is not about money. LEASING SP IS NOT AN INVESTMENT FOR MONEY. ITS AN INVESTMENT FOR INFLUENCE. For those that don't know, influence eventually makes you money.

If you know what you are hoping to achieve then you will know that you need SP to grow your blog/brand. Its just like when you are running ads in the newspaper, do you expect the newspaper to pay you? Of course not. But you will earn alot more than the newspaper would have paid you eventually. However, you can also earn a bigger cut of the curation pie and your votes will no longer be dust.
