Steemit is Struggling a bit
There is a lot of negative sentiment lately given that the price of Steem has fallen so dramatically and payouts are not what they use to be.
Whether or not this continues is entirely up to us.
If the Steemit community continues pushing to develop the platform and produce/promote valuable content, Steemit will thrive once again. If we succumb to the FUD and abandon our efforts the outlook is not so good.

It perfectly outlines all of the fears people are having surrounding Steemit at the moment. I also think you are correct in that things are not all doom and gloom. As long as we have a strong core of users actively working to promote Steem/Steemit we will see a resurgence eventually.

I took a moment to read some of your posts and I think I have come up with a solution that will make you happy.
But seriously the "solution" is to participate in a positive manner. If you don't like something - fix it. If you want a feature - develop it. The community is so small you can enact change.
in theory it would indeed solve the problem, but the whales could simply stop voting ... that would have the same effect
in other words, the best solution is; get mean and nasty with the whales; insult them, downvote whatever they upvote ... the needs to be a revolt against the whales, because they're the ones screwing everything up; that's a mathematical fact
but denying the one and only real problem; too many big whales, is NOT the solution
positive impact or new developments don't solve the problem, you just make you feel good about yourself, but they don't actually solve the problem; the whales need to reduce their voting with 90%, that's the only solution

but allowing steemit to die is cool?
Perfect, I've been saying this for a while, the only way steemit dies is if everyone leaves. Regardless of what happens to the price, a social media site that pays exists, all we have to do is use/build it.

Steem on! If we don't get paid, it is still the best social media in my opinion!
