RE: The Pot of STEEM #1

in #steemit7 years ago

I think you're right but I'm not sure that changing the rules while it's running will build trust either ...

3 times a week would be fine I think - 1st starts monday pays wednesday ... 2nd starts wednesday pays friday ... 3rd starts friday and pays sunday ... We could start it now by moving first payout from 17th to the 12th ...

Btw. the bot is temporarily dead because I'm reinstalling my server this weekend ... should be back on sunday or monday if everything will go as planned.

Sort:

do no specify when the payout will be. The rules would say "3 to 4 times per week" and you choose the time during the week, the payout being unpredictable makes it more fun and takes you off a schedule. The pot has just started so changing the rules for faster payout is a great change, not something anyone would complain about.

Make it a Radom pick of 3 to 4 times a week. If murh picks the day, people might wander if he is gaming the system.

a human being has to pick the payout time if it's not a smart contract, and right now the pot has a human being, @murh will have to pick the payout time until a smart contract is developed

anyone who put the minimum of 35 steem is gaming the pot, as they are guaranteed to get back more than they put in, it's all on the blockchain, no need for anyone to be suspicious of what anyone else is doing, it's there for everyone to see

yeah with the names attached it makes it much more interesting as you said in one of you videos about comparing the two pots. I like that we can see those trying to scrape every penny haha .

Being the first run, people might be putting in 35 steem to test it out. Look what happened with the bitcoin pot. You never know. I'll increace mine every week until i find the brake even point.

I'm really short on time right now so I'll probably pick some day in the beggining of next week for the first payout and annoucement of the new rules ... and then a random payout 3-4 times per week ...

The best case would be the TPOSbot picking a random date and making payouts ... but that'll take some work and even more testing ... maybe if I'll find the time ...

I agree with Craig that it'll be more dynamic with more frequent payouts and more interesting with random ones ...
