I just arrived on Steem ... And now? - Some tips to get started on Steemit

1. Some tips to get started on Steem.

You have just arrived on Steemit or on Busy and you start to post ... one article, then another, then a 3rd. And nothing does, you get only a few views and sometimes not more than 3 cents of rewards per article. And it feared.

It's worrying because you're wondering why you make the effort to land on this new platform, why so many people tell you good (and, oh, the bastards, they make three, four Steem Dollars per article them ...! ) and give you rewards. At that price, you stayed on Facebook (at least you already have Followers and people who read you).

To land on Steem, when you do not know the codes, it can be frustrating. Good news, I have gone through all these frustrations and I will save you 3 months of research and testing.

If you're not new, but you're wondering how to be fun with them, check out my video!

  1. Before you begin
  • emember that when you come to Steem, even if you come for the rewards, it is very likely that you will stay for the
    community!
  • Publishing articles will not cost you money, but you can win (in the form of Steem Dollars which is a cryptomonnaie).
  • Place your password safely, because if you lose it, you will never be able to recover it.
  • Set your Steemit / Busy profile with a photo / logo / personalized banner and other info that you want to share with the
    community.
  • Creates a presentation article (respecting some guidelines).

2. Explore, Uncover and Understand Steem

Find out what Steem is and how it works. Really take some time to figure out how Steem works that will allow you to move faster afterwards, do not think this time is lost!

  • Go for a walk on Understanding-Steem to understand how the platform works. There are texts and videos that tell you
everything: everything from layout to editorial advice, articles to explain technical terms, tools to use to better analyze your
evolution, to different applications (we have a kind of Youtube, Instagram, forum, etc.) Steem to cool projects, etc.
  • Read the Etiquette (Honestly, it's a long time, but it will be really useful to you ... There are really things to avoid doing on
    Steem to avoid grilling!).
  • Search after the tags you are interested in and under which you can post to gain visibility when you start publishing.

3. Begin (only and finally) to publish content

  • Writes articles of quality and unique in Steem.
  • Put your articles in story form that the readers want to read and come back to you.
  • Create a custom thumbnail for your article because it catches the eye. If you do not create a thumbnail specifically for your
article, know that it is your first photo that will be put in vignette (and therefore, pay attention to the format).
  • Reads and checks the spelling.
  • Think carefully about your title. This is what hooks the reader (after the thumbnail).
  • Choose your tags
  • Imperatively tag #fr if you are writing in French and want to be read by the entire French-speaking community and potentially
    voted by @francosteemvotes.
  • If you post your articles via Busy, tag busy, and you'll get an upvote from them (and when you start, it's not negligible).

4. The (Ro) Bots to give you a little boost

I am personally totally against paying bots. Besides, I normally do not vote for an article that has been uploaded by this type of Bot since it does not guarantee that the content is quality nor that it is appreciated by the community since the upvote was bought.

However, there is the Minnow Support project that can help you and that does not cost you anything. I'll let you discover how to sign up for the MSP.

Conclusion

This article is voluntarily short and does not go into detail. I'm not talking about the payment system at all, because at first it does not matter much.

I'll let you discover Comprendre-Steem and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them in comments if you do not find your answer on the site or in the FAQ before!

If you are new, welcome again and if you are not ... What advice would you add to this list?
