It's too late to mine Bitcoin. However there are lots of other coins around. New ones coming out all the time. If you really want to learn about it, I would advice getting an AMD graphics card for your PC (not MAC) and use that to learn about mining. If you don't make anything you still have a decent computer that is still useful.
Thanks again, i will look into other coins , i presume you need different miners for other coins ??
