Why use search DuckDuckGo in the social network Steemit?

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

If you pay attention now to search for the social network Steemit use the Google search.

I have a suggestion to replace it with DuckDuckGo.

 Why is it you ask?

DuckDuckGo is a pretty famous search engine open source. The servers are in the USA. In addition to its own robot, the search engine uses results from other sources: Yahoo! Search BOSS, Wikipedia.

It positions itself as a search for maximum privacy and confidentiality. The system does not collect any data about the user, store the logs (no search history), the use of cookies is limited.

DuckDuckGo does not  collect personal information of users and does not share it. This is our privacy policy.
Gabriel Weinberg (Gabriel Weinberg, founder DuckDuckGo).

What do you think about this?

I tried to replace google search with duckduckgo. But my experiences with the search was bad because it showed me so different results compared to google.

Good info, thanks

I second the motion.

swapped a couple of months ago, it is really great, image search could be better but other than that it's great to know my privacy is that bit more protected than before
